Isn't it marvellous…...Spring has sprung and the bike is out of its Winter hibernation and back on the road.

Don’t you just love an early warm Spring which officially started on the 20th March.

We took a wee trip around the Border roads last Sunday.. talking of which, we fully support an exciting proposal to hold a Borders TT at some point in the future so go have a look at the Facebook pages www.facebook.com/BordersTt and please show your support.

As a lot us will be out and about on the bikes from now until the end of the season and for those of you who ride all year round, just a wee reminder to ride safely.

To any motorist, please watch out for us especially at junctions and in slow moving traffic. I will shortly be updating the website with a page about filtering and a run down of the important cases so watch out for that and know where you stand.

Back to motorists and a few interesting facts following a poll of 2,000 car drivers carried out by Confused.com. reported in the Press this week.

19% of 25-34 year olds consider their driving habits are risky and as many as 10% have driven wearing slippers. I could never adequately control my car wearing my fluffy baffies!

39% of women admitted to driving wearing flip flops and an astonishing 22% of men and 24% of women had driven barefoot!

10% of women admitted to putting on make-up and 15% of men admitted having a shave while driving. 

If all this is going on, the chances of seeing the two-wheeled road user must be reduced.

I always try to get eye-contact with drivers at junctions and confess I've never seen anyone having a shave at the wheel but it does make you wonder!
