A group of motorcyclists were travelling on an A road. The lead motorcyclist was following a van. Ahead of the van was a pick up. The pick up wished to turn right at a junction which was clearly marked. He indicated and brought his vehicle to a stop. The van driver failed to observe the stationary pick up and was forced to brake hard creating an emergency situation behind. The following motorcyclist who was riding too close to the van was unable to stop and clipped the rear of the van before being struck by an oncoming vehicle sustaining fatal injuries.
